This was our first Christmas as a family in our own home. We were excited to be home for Christmas. We spent Christmas Eve shopping (for fun, not last minute shopping) and decided to go see Sam's family in American Fork for a little bit. We ended up just playing games with the kids and heading home. I made a Christmas Eve dinner, we told Everly the story of Christ's birth using her Little People Nativity, opened PJ's, gave Everly a bath and read 'Twas the Night Before Christmas. After I put Everly to bed Sam and I (mostly Sam) built her kitchen from Santa and put together the shopping cart with food. We stayed up watching Christmas movies and then went to bed. I made Everly an apron to go with her Kitchen. Here is the tutorial I used to make it though I made several minor changes.
I had to get up early Christmas morning to start cooking for our Hunt family Christmas dinner. We had church at 9:00 AM so I knew I had to get going early. Everly ended up waking up around 6:30 so we did Santa gifts, opened a few presents and made breakfast. After we got ready for church Sam had to dig us out of the snow so we could get to church in time. We had a white Christmas with more than 15 inches of snow on the ground. The plows hadn't come by and there were absolutely no tracks on the road. We made it to church on time and had a beautiful service. After church I continued cooking, we opened more gifts, FaceTime with my family and got ready to leave (we still hadn't finished opening all of Everly's gifts). We spend most of the afternoon at the Hunt's playing games and hanging out. Once we got home, Sam took Everly and let me go to sleep and sleep all by myself! He slept in her bed with her so she wouldn't wake me up! She is still such a stinker when it comes to sleeping. It was the best Christmas gift he could have given me! It was so nice to get a good night's rest.
