Everly is 4 Months Old

So Everly turned four months old today! She is such a joy in our home and we love that she came to our little family. She is growing each day and she is constantly changing. Right now she is totally a daddy's girl–I have to admit I'm a little jealous but I love it at the same time. Sam is gone all day long and some nights he doesn't get home until around 10PM. When he gets home, Everly immediately hears him come in and starts looking around for him. Even if she's eating, she'll stop and look for her daddy. She smiles so big when she sees him and gets excited. She'll start kicking her legs and flailing her arms around.
She LOVES to make her dad laugh more than anything. She thinks she's pretty cool when he laughs at her. So she is constantly making noises and squealing to get his attention hoping he'll think it's funny. She'll spend a lot of energy talking to him and telling him about her day. She loves to sit next to him on the couch and chat. She also loves it when he holds her while he's doing his homework. I think she just likes to feel involved in what he's doing. She really wants to be his helper. Sam is so good to her. He gives her all the attention she wants and will play with her for as long as she wants to. :)

Other things she loves:
  • Smiling

  • Laughing

  • Chatting
  • Grabbing her toes!!

  • Reading books
  • Getting out of the house
  • Outside
  • Gnawing on her fingers
  • Laying on her back staring at the ceiling
  • Her toys (especially if she can easily put them in her mouth or if they make noise)

  • Making her bouncer rock
  • Taking a bath
  • Staring at my chachkies
  • The sound of running water
  • Her owl blanket
  • Grabbing things within her reach (even my hair!)
  • Going on walks
  • Hanging out in the Baby Bjorn

She rolled over once quite a few weeks ago and hasn't seemed interested in trying it again. We've been working with her and Sam can get her close to rolling over but she doesn't seem to care much abut it. She really wants to sit up! She's always trying to sit up and look around. She usually sits up too far and ends up folding over on top of her legs and she's not quite strong enough to pull herself back up yet.

Right now we are still working on getting her to sleep in her own bed at night and for naps. She wants to be held while she naps but she's getting better at napping on her own if I lay her in bed. Her four month dr. appointment is in two weeks. She'll be getting more shots but she'll also be able to start eating food. We are so excited for that.
