I knew we'd miss Sam so much while he was in Japan so when I found discounted tickets to the Pumpkin Train in Heber City the Saturday after he got home I had to buy them. It was so much fun and I loved being able to spend time together as a family. It's one of the most important things to me! We dressed Evelry up as a bright pink strawberry and drove up to Heber and checked in at the old railroad. There was a old train car that had hay in it and some pumpkins so we 'picked' our pumpkins. There was another train car that was a 'haunted' train car. We walked through that. We met Harriot the Witch and I packed a picnic we ate there as well. We boarded the train and had a nice scenic 40 minute train ride. There was music, dancing, jokes and a little history on the train ride. We even got a pumpkin cookie! Everly did well but I think I had more fun than she did:)!! I think she enjoyed the undivided attention from mom and dad the most.
When it came to the actual day Halloween was on, Everly didn't sleep at all the night before (okay she slept two hours). So she was very tired on Halloween. That evening I put her down to sleep around 5:45 and she slept until about 8:00. So we didn't do any Halloween-ie things, sadly. We didn't feel like it was worth dressing her up after 8. So I made cupcakes, passed out candy and Sam worked on his mountain bike. I'm so thankful we celebrated a little bit the week before!:)
Best part of Halloween?..Eating candy in bed the next morning:)
