Betsy Brannon Green: Hazardous Duty Series

When my great-grandma passed away, the family got rid of all her books. She enjoyed reading in her spare time and had so many books. I was able to inherit several of her books. I've enjoyed reading them. Most of them are from Deseret Book or Seagal Book and most are mystery/suspense. I recently finished a trilogy by Betsy Brannon Green (Hazardous Duty, Above and Beyond and Code of Honor). I've read many of Green's books before but it's been a while since I've read one of her books. I'm not a huge suspense person but Green does a great job at making it intense but not too intense. I enjoyed this series. The series has predictable aspects of the story but there are still twists and turns you don't see coming. The best part is there is a love story along with the suspense/mystery! Each book has its own story but all the stories flow very well which I love!

The main character is Savannah McLaughlin. In the first book her daughter is kidnapped and she reaches out to an old estranged friend who was one of the Army's best to help her find her daughter. As the book develops you learn more about Savannah and her past with her late husband and the Army man Dane. It's filled with suspense, drama, and surprises.

In the second book, Savannah decides to help the daughter of the mob boss and begs for Dane's help. Again, he gets his team involved and brings Savannah along to try to catch the mob boss. There are traitors and twists all through the novel. This book defiantly pushes the love story along which was my favorite part.

Savannah comes up with a plan to rescue Dane from the mob boss in the third book. All aspects of the trilogy are nicely wrapped up in the third and I was bummed to finish the series. I really enjoyed the story and ALL of the characters which is rare. I felt like I really got to know each character and it was such a fun week to read through the series.
