Everly's Blessing

On September 6, we had Everly's baby blessing. It was beautiful! Sam gave her a wonderful blessing. I transcribed it and I'm saving it for her so she can read it when she gets older. We had a lot of family come to support. My family came out, my aunt and uncle (the Brinkerhoffs), my grandparents, my Aunt Susan and Uncle Ken and their kids, the Rasmussen's, the Lopez clan, a few Smallwoods and of course Sam's family. It was nice to have so much support and so many people there.

We came here to our apartment to have a luncheon in the backyard. My family brought a shade tent and Sam's family brought a bunch of picnic tables and chairs. It was fun to relax in the backyard and chat with so many people that we love. Oh, and the weather was absolutely perfect!

I had so much help with the food. We had croissant sandwiches, chips, salads, and several yummy desserts. I made mint Oreo truffles and red velvet cookies for dessert. Cindy brought yummy poppy seed bread, Becca Lopez brought ice cream cake and we had a chocolate and vanilla cake from Costco.

For the decorations, I just set up against our fence. I made the tissue pom poms. I just bought the tissue paper at target (in set of 8 sheets). We used brown burlap string to string them up. I got the frame from my Granny and painted it with spray paint. I bought the E at Michael's and painted that and used fishing line to hang the "E" inside of the frame. I wrapped three cardboard boxes with wrapping paper. I can't find a picture of it but I set up picture frames with pictures of Everly on top of the boxes. I painted a wood picture frame and put the quote "I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always, as long as I'm living my baby you'll be." Then I wrote Everly's name on a chalk board. This was the dessert table. I like the way it turned out for my first party decorating attempt! I think it actually looked nice up against our old fence.

For the sign, I just got scrapbook paper from Michael's. I found a font that would work and printed out the words. I taped them to the paper and cut out the letters. I just used a glue stick to glue the letters to the poster and it worked well. Sam attached it to a piece of wood and used a fence  post to stick it in the bush so everyone knew where to go!

It was such a fun day overall! We loved spending time with so many loved ones:) It'll be a day Sam and I will always remember. We have the best family and we love them so very much!
