Everly's First Birthday

Everly turned one June 1st. It's August 7th now so I figured I should write about her birthday and her birthday party we had for her. Her actual birthday we put balloons in her crib in the morning and let her open her gifts. Sam went off to school and we decided to go to the zoo. Side note.... I ended up buying a zoo pass for the year and we've absolutely loved it so far! Anyway, we ended up going to Pace's Dairy Ann for dinner and ice cream because Sam got home early!

Saturday June 4th we had a HUGE party for Everly. I reserved the pavilion at Eggett Memorial Park in Bountiful. It's a secluded park along a river in a small canyon that's conveniently located in town! We invited lots of family and friends and had about 60 people come. My family came up from St. George. I made Cafe Rio pulled pork salads for both sides of the family. Then we had the rest of the extended family and friends come later for cake and ice cream. I went to Target and they had tons of pink and gold decorations on sale so I decided to do a pink and gold theme. I bought little pink and gold buckets that I filled with candy for the centerpieces. There were two little pink jars with candles in them. I found a large clear jar with a gold lid that I filled with bubble gum. I made a pink and gold Happy Birthday banner that we hung from the pavilion next to the bubble machine. We had a bubble machine blowing bubbles and the kids loved it. We had a snow cone machine and cotton candy machine for the kids as well. My sister Sarah worked the snow cone machine and my sister Jess was doing the cotton candy. We had a ball tent for the little babies who were having a ball:) There was finger painting and a little swimming pool full of fish for the kids to 'go fish.' Of course, we did a pinata.  I made a little smash cake for Everly. She just slowly and gently picked off the icing. I made cupcakes and rice krispie treats for everyone else. I used cookie cutters for the rice krispie treats and dipped them in white chocolate with pink sprinkles. They turned out so cute but I can't find a picture of them. Sam helped me make Everly's invitations. I just love how they turned out!
