Sam's graduation was May 5-6th although technically he wasn't done yet. He still had three classes over the summer semester but at the University of Utah they only do graduation once a year so he walked (at my instance!!) in May. His summer semester ended last week and I'm so happy to say he's done!! Anyway, his graduation was very nice and he had lots of family support. Obviously Everly and I went but also Sam's parents came to both commencement and convocation. My sister Jess came to convocation as well as Sam's sister LauraKay and her son Kingston.
Everly's graduation face vs Sam's graduation face....
I love this picture of Sam with the babies. :)
Sam did NOT want me to throw him a graduation party but I insisted. So we kept it low-key. I did minimal decorations and we just bought Costco pizza, salads, and veggies. I made (at Sam's request) peanut butter bars and attempted to write on the chocolate icing with red icing. We invited Sam's whole family and his good friends the Rasmussen's. Sam showed off his project from the winter semester-the school he built in bluff and we just hung out and ate. It turned out nice.
Fast forward three months and Sam just completed his final presentation. We went through three yeas of architecture school between undergrad and the grad program. Sam failed to tell me that people can come to his reviews (which are basically presentations of his projects) until his final review. So Everly and I went to support him. The architecture department provided a little lunch for families and the students after the presentations so it ended up being really fun! Sam did wonderful and the jurors didn't have any criticisms for his project (which basically equals an A+ in the architecture world).
